Special features: This cider from Scotland matures in former single malt Scotch whisky barrels, gaining complex notes of oak, vanilla, and honey. It is vegan and gluten-free.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A complex and rich aroma of ripe apples, complemented by distinct notes of vanilla, oak, and a hint of smoke.
- Palate: Well balanced between sweetness and acidity, with juicy, ripe apples in the foreground, accompanied by a pleasant sweetness reminiscent of caramel and honey.
- Finish: Long and layered with lingering notes of ripe apples, vanilla, and oak, as the sweetness slowly fades and the barrel-related aromas linger longer.
Distillery/Bottler: Thistly Cross Cider Co. Ltd. was founded in 2008 by Peter Stuart and Ian Rennie and has been producing award-winning cider in small batches since then. The production takes place at Belhaven Fruit Farm on the east coast of Scotland, using fresh fruits and traditional methods.
