This gift set pairs an 18-year-old Tomintoul with two engraved glasses. The gift box depicts Loch A'An in the Cairngorms National Park. The River A'An flows from this loch and passes the distillery.

This Speyside single malt has no smoky notes and derives its colour entirely from cask maturation. It is bottled at 40% alcohol. Its creamy character brings together fruit, sweet pastry notes and spicy accents.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Cooked apples and sultanas give the nose a fruity opening. Vanilla sponge cake and sweet spice notes add to the aromas.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is creamy with a pronounced texture. Preserved apricots, vanilla cream, amaretto pastries and rice pudding meet beeswax and a spicy note reminiscent of cigar-box wood.
• Finish: The finish is sweet and warming. Nutmeg and buttery biscuits combine with heather honey and vanilla toffee.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1965, Tomintoul Distillery lies near the village of the same name in the Cairngorms National Park. Its production water comes from the Ballantruan spring, not Loch A'An. Soft spring water and tall stills are among the foundations of Tomintoul's smooth distillery style.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming comes from a family now in its fourth generation of distilling whisky in Speyside. He has been involved in production at Tomintoul for more than 30 years. Together with his team, he is responsible for the distillery's single malts.
