Special Features:

This official single-cask bottling from Tomintoul was released exclusively for Kirsch customers. The whisky was distilled on 27 March 2013 and matured for twelve years in bourbon barrel 4328. It was bottled in December 2025 at its natural cask strength of 59.6%, with the cask yielding only 222 bottles.

The bourbon cask gives Tomintoul’s notably gentle style a concentrated, powerful expression without masking its bright character. Vanilla cream, lemon cake and poached pear form the fruity, sweet core, while roasted chestnut, tobacco and cinnamon add spicy definition. Praline, cappuccino, nougat and cocoa lead into a long, nutty, bitter-edged and warming finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines vanilla custard tartlets, lemon cake and stewed fruit with chamomile, cocoa and roasted chestnuts.
• Palate: On the palate, spiced apples, vanilla pod, poached pear and caramel cream meet tobacco and cinnamon.
• Finish: The finish is long, nutty and warming, with praline, cappuccino and elderflower giving way to nougat and cocoa powder.

Distillery/Bottler:

This bottling comes directly from Tomintoul Distillery. The distillery has been producing whisky in Cairngorms National Park since 1965 and has belonged to Angus Dundee Distillers since August 2000.

Soft water from the Ballantruan spring and tall stills contribute to the gentle, balanced house style. Robert Fleming, a distiller from a Speyside family with four generations of experience, has worked at Tomintoul since 1990 and has provided the distillery with decades of personal continuity.
