Special Features:

An extended finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry barrique shapes this Tomintoul from the Cask Masters single-cask series. Distilled on 26 January 2015, the single malt spent the final 30 months of its ten-year maturation in cask #82/2015. Brave New Spirits bottled it on 13 March 2025 as a Distiller’s Cut at 55.3%, with an outturn of 205 bottles.

Cherry, walnut and toffee bring fruit and nuttiness to the sherry finish. Thyme and other herbal notes add a spicy counterpoint. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Within Cask Masters, Distiller’s Cut denotes single-cask bottlings at cask strength. Inspired by the Japanese art of kirigami paper cutting, the labels pair the cask selection with details of age, cask type and bottling.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Walnuts and toffee mingle on the nose with a hint of dark cherries, while a delicate thyme note adds herbal spice.
• Palate: The whisky feels creamy and full-bodied on the palate. Toasted nuts, cherry compote and caramel sweets are accompanied by a delicate herbal note.
• Finish: The medium-long to long finish leaves toffee and dried fruit, followed by a gentle, slightly spicy herbal note that fades slowly.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1965, Tomintoul Distillery stands near the village of the same name in the Cairngorms National Park. It uses water from the Ballantruan spring for its single malt, while its tall stills contribute to the distillery’s balanced house style.

Brave New Spirits is an independent bottler and blender founded in 2020 and based in Glasgow. For Cask Masters, the company selects individual casks for their maturation character. For this edition, it bottled the whisky from the selected Tomintoul cask.
