Special Features:

Track 6: All My Life brings together five whiskies shaped by different casks. The disclosed recipe comprises 21% GlenAllachie from first-fill ex-Woodford barrels, 14% Balblair from Limousin oak XO octaves, 16% Benriach from first-fill bourbon barrels, 30% Knockdhu from a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt and 19% North British from bourbon barrels. Four malt whiskies thus meet one grain whisky.

Released in 2024, this small-batch composition recalls apple crumble with raisins and walnuts, as well as pudding; cinnamon and cocoa complement its dessert-like profile. The edition takes its name from the Foo Fighters song All My Life. For this particularly personal blend, the Stevenson brothers selected whiskies from distilleries they had previously worked for. The release comprises around 2,200 bottles. The whisky is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: On the nose, red apples, plums and raisins mingle with tart berries and cinnamon. A hint of potpourri complements the sweet fruit notes. Vanilla pastries then emerge, along with delicate almond biscuit notes and a woody nuance reminiscent of pencil shavings.
  • Palate: The whisky is sweet and spicy on the palate. Fruit compote, apple cake and raisins meet a gentle cocoa note. Dried ginger, walnuts and a distinct cereal note then come to the fore, before cinnamon and chocolate return.
  • Finish: Delicate cinnamon and cocoa notes remain present throughout the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Brothers Gordon and Alasdair Stevenson are behind the Turntable Blending House in Glasgow. Both brought more than ten years of whisky industry experience to their shared business. Alasdair had worked for Benriach and GlenAllachie, among others, and focuses particularly on blending and sales and marketing strategy at Turntable. Gordon concentrates on stock management and production planning.

Turntable works with small batches and carefully planned cask management. The brothers plan transfers into selected casks, taste their stocks regularly and assess the individual components of their blends. In 2023, Turntable used a three-month resting period in cask after marrying the whiskies and slightly reducing the alcohol strength. For Track 6, the house discloses all five blend proportions along with their cask types.
