Amahagan Peated Edition
Special features: The Amahagan Peated Edition comes from the Nagahama Distillery, the smallest whisky distillery in Japan, founded in 2016 on the shores of Lake Biwa. Made with the smallest pot stills in the country, this smoky blend combines the characterful local spirit with carefully selected malt whiskies from around the world. This release complements the Amahagan World Malt series with a peaty profile and brings new depth through the peated finish.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Smoky peat notes meet malty sweetness with hints of spice and vanilla.
Palate: Strong and full-bodied, the whisky presents dry smoke, subtle fruit, and a velvety texture.
Finish: Long-lasting, with spicy smoke and a delicate touch of oak.
Distillery/Bottler: The Nagahama Distillery is located on Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, and is the smallest distillery in the country with only 26 square meters of space. It was founded in 2016 and represents the new generation of Japanese craft distilleries. With its elaborately handcrafted equipment, including the smallest pot stills in Japan, Nagahama places great importance on complex and full-bodied whiskies. The Amahagan series combines the local brand with globally selected malts to create a multifaceted tasting experience.
