Special Features:
The rum-cask finish shapes this 14-year-old Speyside whisky. It first matures in oak casks before spending its final maturation period in American oak casks previously filled with a selection of West Indian rums. The cask influence adds sweet oak and gentle spice to its fruit, toffee and vanilla character.
The single malt is bottled at 43% in a 0.7-litre bottle. The gift pack also includes two coasters.
Tasting Notes:
Distillery/Bottler:
William Grant opened The Balvenie distillery in Dufftown in 1892, having already founded Glenfiddich there. The Balvenie remains part of William Grant & Sons. The distillery grows its own barley and retains traditional malting floors; coopers and a coppersmith also work on site. The coopers look after the casks, while the coppersmith maintains the copper stills.
