Special Features:

This single cask shows Bruichladdich’s unpeated side. Part of the Micro-Provenance series, the whisky matured for 13 years in a first-fill bourbon cask. The distillery distilled it from Optic barley on 31 May 2010 and bottled the whisky from cask 1216 on 30 May 2024. The cask yielded 204 bottles of 0.7 litres each.

Bottled at a cask strength of 61%, the whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. Alongside vanilla shaped by the bourbon cask, it offers citrus, sweet malt and a delicate salty note.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla and honey lead on the nose, with lemon, a delicate salty sea note and a hint of clove alongside them.
• Palate: Caramel and vanilla mingle with sweet malt and almond on the palate. Lemon and green apple bring freshness, while the texture feels silky and creamy.
• Finish: The finish is dry. Oak, white pepper and malty sweetness linger as the fruit fades.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Harvey brothers founded Bruichladdich on Islay in 1881. The distillery closed in 1994 and resumed production in 2001. It places particular emphasis on the origin of its barley and carries out distillation, maturation and bottling on the island.

Bruichladdich is the distillery’s unpeated single malt range, while Port Charlotte and Octomore are peated whiskies. The Micro-Provenance series focuses on individual casks and the differences in how their whiskies mature.
