Glen Grant 18yo - NSS Batch North Star #027 - 56.1% Refill Hogshead / Oloroso Sherry finish

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 56.1% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

This 18-year-old single-cask bottling combines long maturation in a refill hogshead with a final Oloroso sherry finish. The Glen Grant was distilled in March 2008 and bottled in March 2026 as part of North Star Spirits’ Cask Series 027. The edition was released to mark the independent bottler’s tenth anniversary.

The cask yielded 184 bottles at 56.1% alcohol, each containing 0.7 litres. The whisky was bottled at natural cask strength, without added colouring or chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, deeply baked shortbread and pistachio shells combine to create a toasted, nutty impression.
• Palate: Apple pastries and double cream emerge on the palate, while the creamy texture immediately coats the entire mouth.
• Finish: The finish is very long and carried by sweet cashews.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glen Grant Distillery is located in Rothes in Speyside and was founded in 1840 by the brothers John and James Grant. James “The Major” Grant took over the business in 1872, expanded the distillery and introduced tall, slender stills and water-cooled purifiers. This design allows only selected alcohol vapours to condense and shapes the light, floral character of the new make spirit.

North Star Spirits was founded in Glasgow in 2016 by Iain Croucher. The family-run independent bottler selects individual casks and spirits for its own releases. North Star released this Glen Grant during its 2026 anniversary year as part of Cask Series 027.
