Special Features:

This Glen Ord matured for eleven years in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez butt. The whisky from cask 91 belongs to the Highland Laird series from independent bottler Bartels Whisky Ltd. Distilled on 8 April 2015, it was bottled in 2026 at 49.2%, yielding 485 bottles. It was neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

The PX butt gives this non-smoky single malt notes of dark dried fruit, chocolate and oak spice. Lighter malt notes remain discernible on the nose alongside these pronounced cask influences.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers ripe plums, raisins and light malt. A little vanilla, a hint of cinnamon and delicate sherry sweetness round out the aroma.
• Palate: On the palate, dark chocolate and dried figs meet sweet, caramelised syrup. Spicy oak and a hint of clove give structure to the full body.
• Finish: The finish is long, with sweet dried fruit lingering alongside oak spice and a note of pepper.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Ord was founded in 1838 in Muir of Ord, west of Inverness. The distillery has its own maltings, and long fermentation and slow distillation are part of its production process. Glen Ord produced the single malt for this release; Bartels Whisky Ltd. selected the individual cask for Highland Laird and bottled the matured whisky.

Bartels is a family-run independent bottler based in Great Britain. The related company Bartels Rawlings International Limited also trades whisky casks, and Highland Laird is one of its single malt brands. The series focuses on single-cask releases, preserving the character of each cask.
