Special Features:

This Longmorn spent all 17 years in an Oloroso butt filled with whisky for the first time. Distilled on 30 October 2008, the single malt was bottled in 2026 from cask no. 1240 by Bartels Whisky Ltd. for its Highland Laird range. The cask yielded 455 bottles.

Bottled at 53.1% alcohol, it has no added colouring and has not been chill-filtered. Its Oloroso maturation brings together dried fruit, nuts and chocolate with spice and dry oak. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and is sold without additional packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Raisins and toasted walnuts come forward on the nose, complemented by delicate chocolate and a sweet Oloroso note.
• Palate: Malty sweetness, cinnamon and clove meet dry oak on the palate, with a hint of orange adding a fruity accent.
• Finish: The long finish brings together coffee and lingering chocolate with gently dry spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Longmorn is near Elgin in Scotland’s Speyside region. John Duff founded the distillery in 1894 and had a rail connection built to make it easier to bring in supplies and transport whisky. Longmorn makes the single malt; Bartels Whisky Ltd. selected the cask and bottled the whisky from it.

Bartels Whisky is an independent British bottler that selects individual single malt casks for Highland Laird. The name has been associated with the family business for more than 50 years; Bartels resumed bottling under it in 2014. Each release in the range puts the character of its selected cask at the forefront.
