This anniversary bottling of Tormore comes from a single Refill Bourbon Barrel. The whisky was distilled on 20 December 2007 and matured in cask number 700702 before being bottled on 29 July 2026 at 18 years old. The edition celebrating the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import comprises 239 bottles.

The Bourbon Barrel, previously used to mature whisky, brings together fruit notes, vanilla, honey and restrained spice. Peach tart, lively citrus notes and baking spices shape its character. The single malt was bottled at a cask strength of 54.6%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe yellow fruit and vanilla mingle with subtle wood notes and pale malt. A discreet citrus nuance rounds out the aromas.
• Palate: The whisky is powerful and balanced on the palate. Sweet Bourbon cask notes combine with honey, grain and gentle spice.
• Finish: The medium-long to long finish remains warm and slightly dry. Oak and fruit linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tormore lies in the Cromdale Hills in Scotland’s Speyside region. Built in 1959, the distillery was designed alongside a residential development as an integrated place to live and work. Its striking architecture earned it the nickname Pearl of Speyside. For decades, much of its whisky went into blends; during that time, Tormore was only occasionally available as a single malt.

Today, production focuses on creating an elegant, fruit-led spirit. The team checks the composition of the milled malt and adjusts the mill when necessary to obtain the clearest possible wort. During distillation, devices known as purifiers return heavier components of the vapour to the still, helping to produce a lighter spirit. Before each filling, every incoming cask is individually checked by smell for potential off-notes.
