Special Features:

A single PX Sherry Hogshead shapes this Tormore celebrating the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. The Single Malt comes from cask number 47177 and matured for twelve years between distillation on 4 July 2014 and bottling on 28 July 2026. The release comprises 320 bottles, each containing 0.7 litres at 57.8% alcohol. The whisky was neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

The sherry influence brings together dark fruit and spicy sweetness. Alongside dried fruit and chocolate notes, the whisky also offers hints of rich fruitcake, butterscotch and anise.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, raisins and figs meet sweet sherry notes and caramel. Delicate spices accompany the dark dried fruit, while oak remains a subtle hint.
• Palate: The whisky is powerful and full-bodied on the palate. Dates, chocolate and caramelised nuts combine with spicy sweetness.
• Finish: The long, warm finish retains its sherry and fruit character. Oak spice accompanies the slightly dry close.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tormore lies in the Cromdale Hills of Scotland's Speyside region. Built in 1959, the distillery was established alongside a settlement for its community. Its distinctive architecture earned it the nickname Pearl of Speyside. For decades, much of its whisky went into blends, while Tormore initially appeared only occasionally as a Single Malt.

Today's production methods aim for an elegant, fruit-led spirit. The team monitors the consistency of the milled malt and seeks to obtain particularly clear wort during mashing. During distillation, devices known as purifiers return heavier components to the still, helping to produce a lighter spirit. Before filling, each incoming cask is checked individually by smell to identify unwanted influences at an early stage.
