High Coast -Berg Batch 14

Special features: The High Coast -Berg Batch 14 is a tribute to the distinctive Nordingrå granite that shapes the dramatic landscape of the Höga Coast region. This single malt whisky was initially matured in 1st fill bourbon casks and subsequently refined in selected 1st fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The natural color of the whisky resembles the Nordingrå granite and emphasizes the authenticity of this fine drop. Additionally, it was not chill-filtered and contains no coloring. Berg Batch 14 is part of the "Origins" series, which explores the origin, geography, and history of the distillery. This series consists of four whiskies that interpret these influences in different ways. Berg has been the most awarded bottling of the distillery at international fairs so far.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Raisins and butterscotch notes combine with elegant undertones of orange and chocolate.
• Palate: Rich vanilla sweetness, ripe pears, and dried apricots as well as sultanas.
• Finish: Medium-long with dried fruits.

Distillery/Bottler: The High Coast Distillery, formerly known as Box Distillery, is located in the far north of Sweden, at the 63rd parallel. It is known for its unpeated whiskies and uses the clear water from Lake Bålsjön, which is filtered through coal and sand. The distillery was founded in 2010 and has since made a name for itself with innovative and high-quality bottlings.
