Special features: This limited release from the renowned "Mountains" series of the High Coast Distillery presents itself as an unpeated single malt whisky. After aging for over eight years, of which 4.69 years in bourbon casks and 3.52 years in Moscatel casks, the whisky was bottled at 51% alcohol content. A total of only 2,687 bottles were produced, emphasizing the exclusivity of this drop.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of tutti-frutti, jasmine, and honey, accompanied by a hint of bergamot.
- Palate: Fruity notes of pear and papaya, refined with vanilla pod and orange peel.
- Finish: Long and sweet, with subtle hints of white pepper and heather honey.
Distillery/Bottler: The High Coast Distillery, founded in 2010 by Mats and Per de Vahl, is beautifully located on the Ångermanälven in Sweden. Originally known as Box Distilleri, the name was changed to reflect its proximity to the impressive Höga Kusten. The distillery is known for its experimental approach and the use of various cask types, resulting in a remarkable variety of whiskies.
