Eagle Rare 10 y.o. (lange Flasche)

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 45% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

This tall-bottle version contains ten-year-old Eagle Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 45%. Based on Buffalo Trace’s Mash Bill #1, the bourbon matures for a full ten years and is assembled in small batches.

Toffee, orange peel and honey form the brighter side of the profile, while herbs, leather and oak provide a more austere counterpoint. Candied almond and cocoa add depth to the palate, creating a classically structured bourbon whose evident maturity is about more than just powerful oak influence.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Toffee and orange peel appear first, followed by herbs and honey. Leather and oak give the aroma a drier, mature outline.
• Palate: The bourbon is powerful and dry on the palate, yet finely delineated. Candied almond and rich cocoa combine sweetness, roasted notes and firm structure.
• Finish: The finish is dry and long-lasting.

Distillery/Bottler:

Eagle Rare has been produced at the present-day Buffalo Trace Distillery site in Frankfort, Kentucky, since 1989. Sazerac acquired the brand in 1989 and the then George T. Stagg Distillery in 1992; the site was renamed Buffalo Trace Distillery in 1999. Today, Buffalo Trace produces this bottling, while Sazerac manages the brand.
