Batch 5 continues the Jack Daniel Distillery's annual Aged Series. This Tennessee whiskey is mellowed through sugar maple charcoal before spending ten years in new American white oak barrels. Introduced in 2026, the release combines the series' extended barrel maturation with an ABV of 48.5%.

Stewed apple and caramel meet pronounced oak, with dark sweetness, chocolate and spice emerging on the palate. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Stewed apple and caramel sit alongside soft and charred oak. Maple candy, baking spices, flambéed banana and a hint of clove add further notes.
• Palate: Molasses, chocolate and barrel spices come through on the palate. Rye spice, black pepper, banana, charred oak, dried tobacco leaf and browned butter with a burnt note round out the flavour.
• Finish: The finish is long, warm and distinctly dry. Pepper, dry charred oak, leather, baking spices, dried tobacco and burnt caramel linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Jack Daniel Distillery was registered in 1866 and operates in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Before barrel maturation, its Tennessee whiskey passes through a layer of sugar maple charcoal about three metres deep. It then matures in new, charred American white oak barrels. These steps also shape the ten-year-old whiskey from Batch 5, which the distillery distils and bottles itself.

With the ten-year-old expression introduced in 2021, the distillery returned a whiskey bearing this age statement to its range for the first time in more than a century. Master Distiller Chris Fletcher oversees the Aged Series, in which extra maturation brings out different facets of the familiar Tennessee whiskey character.
