Special features: This 15-year-old single malt whisky from the renowned Benrinnes Distillery was bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of "The Single Malts of Scotland" series. It matured for 15 years in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead (cask number 45231), which gives it an intense fruitiness and depth. Bottled at cask strength with 55.1% ABV, without chill filtration and without coloring, this whisky presents itself in its purest form. The limited edition comprises 248 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Powerful and complex with aromas of dark raisins, stewed plums, and dates, accompanied by the typical syrupy sweetness of PX sherry. Underpinned by meaty, almost umami-like notes of beef broth, leather, and a hint of smoked bacon. Over time, additional nuances of fig bread, molasses, dark chocolate, and spicy oak unfold, rounded off by a touch of orange peel.
• Palate: Oily and assertive with a sweet sherry note that immediately envelops the tongue. Flavors of raisins, plum jam, and dark grape syrup combine with the characteristic meaty core of the Benrinnes whisky, which is hearty and spicy. Complemented by mocha, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, and a pleasant, warming spice note of cinnamon and clove. The fruitiness remains ever-present and balances the depth of the distillate.
• Finish: Long and intense with sweet dried fruits, PX syrup, and dark chocolate, accompanied by leather, oak spice, and a subtly salty-meaty aftertaste that adds additional complexity to the dram.
