Special features: The Bivrost Yggdrasil Single Malt Whisky is produced in the northernmost distillery in the world, the Aurora Spirit Distillery in Norway. This whisky combines the rugged flavors of the Arctic with traditional craftsmanship. It is made from a blend of Pilsner malt, consisting of Nordic barley and peated distiller's malt, as well as water from the glacial meltwater of the Elvejordvannet river. After distillation in copper pot stills, the whisky matures for four to six years in Oloroso sherry casks, which are hand-charred on-site. This maturation imparts complex flavors and remarkable depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of dried Arctic berries, delicate tundra flowers, and earthy, smoky notes with a slight saltiness.
- Palate: Gentle sweetness with notes of honey, vanilla, dried fruits, and nuts, accompanied by mineral accents.
- Finish: A long, complex, and pleasantly fruity as well as spicy aftertaste.
