Dailuaine 16 y.o. Flora & Fauna
Special features: This 16-year-old single malt whisky from the renowned Speyside region is a rare original bottling from the Dailuaine Distillery. Normally, Dailuaine primarily produces for blends, but as part of Diageo's Flora & Fauna series, this whisky has been bottled in limited edition. The maturation in selected oak casks gives it a complex character that delights connoisseurs of sophisticated whiskies.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of dried fruits, molasses, polished oak, and gentle smoke.
- Palate: Rich and round, with flavors of fruitcake, chocolate, sherry-soaked raisins, and nutty malt, accompanied by a hint of spices and leather.
- Finish: Long and warming, with lingering aromas of dried fruits, oak tannins, and gentle spices.
Distillery/Bottler: The Dailuaine Distillery was founded in 1852 by William Mackenzie and is located in the heart of the Speyside region. It is known for its full-bodied and oily whiskies, which are often used in blends. Diageo's Flora & Fauna series showcases rare single malts from lesser-known distilleries, with each label featuring a regional animal or plant.
