Special features: This Dailuaine Single Malt Whisky was bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of the "Single Malts of Scotland" Reserve Cask series. For this bottling, seven casks were blended together, personally selected by Oliver Chilton, the Head Blender of Elixir Distillers. The whisky matured over a period of 10 years and was bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration and without the addition of colorants.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fresh aromas of apples and lemons, accompanied by sweet vanilla and oak. Chopped nuts add extra depth to the bouquet.
- Palate: Creamy and full-bodied with spicy pepper, a hint of licorice, as well as sweet toffee and vanilla. Citrus fruits provide a lively accent.
- Finish: Long-lasting and sweet, with a slight spiciness that harmoniously rounds off the flavor.
Distillery/Bottler: The Dailuaine Distillery, founded in 1851 by William Mackenzie, is located in the heart of the Speyside region. Known for its distinctive pagoda roofs and the use of worm tubs (snake coolers), it produces a rich, malty distillate. A large portion of the whisky produced goes into well-known blended Scotches.
