Special features: This 13-year-old Highland Single Malt Whisky was matured in collaboration with the renowned South Tyrolean winery St. Michael Eppan in first-fill Cabernet Sauvignon casks. This special maturation gives the whisky a unique depth and complexity. Bottled in June 2025 with an alcohol content of 48.2% and without chill filtration or colorants, this single malt presents itself in its purest form.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of ripe black cherries, blackcurrants, and dark chocolate, accompanied by delicate notes of rose petals, cedar wood, and gentle vanilla wood.
- Palate: Full-bodied and velvety with layers of mulled wine spices, plum jam, and cranberries, complemented by undertones of roasted almonds, leather, and gentle tannins.
- Finish: Long and warming, with lingering impressions of Black Forest cherry cake, grape skins, and a hint of spiced oak.
Distillery/Bottler: The Edradour Distillery, founded in 1825, is one of the smallest and most traditional distilleries in Scotland. Idyllically located by the Edradour River in the Scottish Highlands, it is known for the artisanal production of single malt whiskies. In collaboration with the renowned South Tyrolean winery St. Michael Eppan, special bottlings are created that combine the best of both worlds.
