Special features: This 30-year-old Fettercairn was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2025 by Signatory Vintage as part of the exclusive Symington's Choice series. It matured in a hogshead cask (#2831) and was bottled at cask strength of 58.5%. The bottling is limited to 223 bottles and has not been chill-filtered or colored, preserving the authenticity and depth of this rare Highland Single Malt.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A complex bouquet of tropical fruits, honey, and a hint of oak unfolds in the glass.
- Palate: Full-bodied and balanced, with layers of sweet malt, caramel, nuts, and subtle spices.
- Finish: Long and powerful, with lingering fruit and vanilla notes as well as a warm oak spice.
Distillery/Bottler: The Fettercairn Distillery, founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland. It is beautifully located at the foot of the Grampian Mountains and is known for its innovative production methods, such as the unique copper cooling system that ensures a particularly pure and fresh character of the whisky. Signatory Vintage, the independent bottler of this whisky, was founded in the late 1980s by Andrew Symington and is known for selecting rare and high-quality casks for its Symington's Choice series.
