Special Features:

The limited Campbeltown Malts Festival Edition 2026 is a seven-year-old, medium-peated single malt. It initially matured for seven years in first-fill bourbon casks, followed by six months in first-fill Ruby Port casks. The whisky is bottled at its natural colour, without chill filtration and at 53.9% in bottles holding 0.7 litres.

Master Blender Ashley Smith selected Glen Scotia’s rare peated spirit, which is produced for only a few weeks each year. The first-fill bourbon casks contribute a creamy sweetness of vanilla fudge. Gentle peat smoke and salty sea spray complement this impression. The Ruby Port finish deepens the red berry character with cherry and blackcurrant while adding bright mandarin.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals sweet peat smoke, ripe red cherry and creamy vanilla fudge.
• Palate: Juicy mandarin leads on the palate, followed by rich blackcurrant jam and layers of bold, smouldering smoke.
• Finish: The finish brings warming cinnamon and clove spice together with coastal salinity, while peat smoke lingers for a long time.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Scotia was founded in 1832 as Scotia Distillery. In 1835, it was one of almost 30 working distilleries in Campbeltown; today, it is one of the region’s three remaining distilleries. Key parts of the site dating from the 1830s are still preserved, including the mash tun, stillhouse and a dunnage warehouse. Glen Scotia produces both unpeated and peated whisky, with peated production usually concentrated into around six weeks each year. The festival edition is an official distillery bottling.
