Special features: This miniature whisky from the renowned Glencadam Distillery comes in a handy 50-ml bottle and allows for a compact enjoyment of the Highland Single Malt. The Glencadam American Oak Reserve matures in carefully selected bourbon casks made from American oak, sourced directly from Kentucky. These casks are transported to Scotland and stored in the traditional Dunnage Warehouses of the distillery, giving the whisky its characteristic flavor.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of sweet vanilla pod and buttercream combine with orchard fruits, golden raisins, and hints of the Turkish delight Lokum.
- Palate: A mix of poached pear and apple blossom, followed by acacia honey, roasted chestnut, mocha, and lemon zest.
- Finish: Sweet, cooked fruit, light grapes, and apple crumble that gradually fade into a lingering, gingerbread-spiced warmth.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glencadam Distillery was founded in 1825 by George Cooper in Brechin, Scotland. It is known for its traditional production methods and the use of high-quality water from Loch Lee. After various owners and a temporary closure, the distillery was acquired by Angus Dundee plc in 2003, and production was resumed.
