Special features: The Glendalough Single Cask - Madeira Cask Finish is an Irish Single Grain Whiskey produced at the Glendalough Distillery in the Wicklow Mountains. The whiskey matures for at least three years in new bourbon barrels and then receives a finish in Madeira casks that were used for the Canteiro method. This special processing creates impressive temperature differences during maturation. The whiskey is characterized by its natural coloring and is bottled without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose presents itself invitingly and rich in aromas of sultanas, mango, and pineapple. Complementary notes of orange peel and a slight jam sweetness are noticeable.
• Palate: On the palate, the whiskey is complex and lively with notes of stewed plums, raisins, and dark cherries. Sweet cereal and vanilla notes round off the tasting experience, accompanied by a light pepper spice.
• Finish: The finish is finely spiced and leaves hints of honey, caramel, and oak, while dried fruit notes and a slight nuttiness remain subtly present.

Distillery/Bottler: The Glendalough Distillery in the Wicklow Mountains is the origin of this whiskey. It produces various bottlings in the Single Cask series, including the Madeira Cask Finish. The whiskey is finished in Madeira casks that were previously used according to the traditional Canteiro method after at least three years of maturation in new bourbon barrels. The bottling is done without chill filtration to preserve the natural character of the whiskey.
