Special features: This limited edition was created exclusively for the German market and is limited to only 3,600 bottles. The whisky was distilled in 2016 and matured entirely in selected Oloroso sherry casks, personally chosen by John L.S. Grant at the Spanish bodega José y Miguel Martín. It was bottled in 2026 with an alcohol content of 46% vol.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Strong sherry influence with aromas of raisins, dates, and dark dried fruits, complemented by orange peel, toffee, nuts, and warm spices.
- Palate: Full-bodied and round, characterized by the sweetness of the Oloroso sherry, with notes of dark chocolate, caramelized fruits, malt, and spicy oak.
- Finish: Medium to long, pleasantly warming with sherry fruit sweetness, cocoa, nuttiness, and an increasingly drying oak spice.
Distillery/Bottler: The Glenfarclas Distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and has been owned by the Grant family since 1865. It is known for its traditional production methods, including the use of direct-fired stills and maturation in dunnage warehouses, which contribute to the development of complex flavors.
