Glengoyne Legacy Chapter Three

Special features: The third and final release of "The Legacy Series" from Glengoyne honors Sir Arthur John Tedder, who significantly shaped the characteristic style of the distillery. This single malt matured in hand-selected sherry casks made from American oak and was bottled without chill-filtering or coloring. The limited edition of 1,000 bottles emphasizes the exclusivity of this masterpiece.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Deep sherry aromas combine with cinnamon sticks and vanilla, accompanied by a pleasant mix of berry jam and apple strudel, refined with a hint of pear.
  • Palate: A rich, luxurious body unfolds warm rum raisins and spiced buns, gradually transitioning into the silky caramel flavor of Tarte Tatin and creamy sherry.
  • Finish: Light and fruity, with notes of pineapple, dried fruits, dark chocolate, and lingering spice.

Distillery/Bottler: The Glengoyne Distillery, founded in 1833, is located in the southern Highlands of Scotland and is known for its unpeated single malts. The distillery values traditional production methods and uses only unpeated malt, resulting in a subtle, complex whisky. Glengoyne is one of the few Scottish distilleries still family-owned.
