Special features: This 18-year-old Highland Park Single Malt Whisky was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2024 by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage in the exclusive Ibisco Decanter Collection. The maturation took place in Hogshead casks, resulting in a powerful whisky with 52% ABV. Notably, the use of the Ibisco Decanter, a noble bottle typically used for Edradour bottlings, gives this Highland Park a special touch.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fruity notes of green apples, pears, and fresh citrus fruits, accompanied by a gentle vanilla note, roasted malt, herbs, and light wood.
- Palate: Full-bodied and creamy with flavors of grilled pineapple with honey, nectarines, apricots, and citrus zest. Underpinned by smoky notes, green pepper, slightly salty heather, oak spice, and oatmeal cookies with vanilla cream.
- Finish: Lingering and oily with subtle hints of smoke, fruity sweetness, herbs, spices, and fine oak spice.
Distillery/Bottler: Highland Park is one of the northernmost whisky distilleries in Scotland and is located near Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands. For over 220 years, the distillery has produced one of the finest Scottish single malts. The delicate peat notes are provided by smoked barley malt from the malting floor. Signatory Vintage, founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington, is an independent bottler specializing in the bottling of exceptional whisky treasures and is internationally known for its high-quality products.
