Distillery/Bottler: The Lindores Abbey Distillery, founded in 2017, is located directly opposite the historic Lindores Abbey in the Scottish Lowlands. The McKenzie Smith family, owners of the abbey, established the distillery with the aim of reviving the centuries-old tradition of whisky production at this historic site. The first written record of the distillation of "Aqua Vitae" was made here in 1494, making the abbey the "spiritual home" of Scottish whisky.
