Micil Inverin Small Batch Whiskey 0.7 l

Special features: Micil Inverin Small Batch Whiskey is a blended whiskey combining five carefully selected components. These include both grain and malt whiskeys with distinct distillation and maturation histories. The triple finish in re-charred ex-bourbon casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and a chestnut-stamped poitín cask lends the blend remarkable complexity and depth. The distillery opened in 2016 as the first in Galway in a century, continuing the Ó'Griallas family tradition, which dates back to their ancestors' illegal distilleries.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: peat, burnt wood, bright fruit notes, vanilla, spicy hints
  • Palate: Smoky bacon, peat, baked apple and pear, vanilla, pink pepper, cloves
  • Finish: Long-lasting with persistent peat and fruit notes

Distillery/Bottler: The Micil Distillery was founded in 2016 by Pádraic Ó'Griallas in Galway, Ireland, as the first new distillery in the region in 100 years. The company continues the family's history, whose great-great-great-grandfather ran an illegal distillery in Connemara in the 19th century. The young distillery combines traditional methods with modern whiskey craftsmanship, placing great emphasis on regionality and craftsmanship.
