Initially, the blend of ex-bourbon cask-influenced grain whiskey and triple-distilled malt whiskey ages for 45 months in ex-sherry casks. This is followed by a finish of 4 months in selected ex-Rioja casks, which impart spicy fruit notes to the whiskey and give the product a historical connection to Red Hugh and the Rioja region in Spain.
