Special features: This limited single malt whisky was made from 100% peat-smoked malt (80 ppm) from the Scottish Highlands and matured for four years in a 350-liter barrel made of French oak, which was previously filled with Vin Clair, a young white wine from the Champagne production. Vin Clair gives this smoky whisky an elegant and extraordinary note. Bottled at a robust 58.7% vol, the strictly limited release comprises only 595 bottles of 0.5 liters.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet peat smoke envelops a fruity potpourri of light grapes, juicy apricots, pears, and yellow apples, complemented by fine oak wood, noble spices, a pinch of nutmeg, and subtle ashy notes.
- Palate: The dry fruit sweetness of grapes, apricots, and pears merges with a warming mélange of spices, oak wood, and a spicy hint of black pepper, accompanied by fine peat smoke and subtle ashy tones.
- Finish: Delicate creamy fruit sweetness combines with dry and warming oak notes, fine chocolate tones, and a touch of ash for a long-lasting and elegant finish.
