Tasting Notes:

• Stauning HØST:
  • Nose: Pleasant aroma of caramel, peaches, apples, ripe forest berries, and strong spices.
  • Palate: Smooth and mild on the tongue. Alongside ripe stone fruits, dark berries, toffee, and meadow honey, floral notes and sweet citrus fruits emerge.
  • Finish: Soft, fruity, and spicy with juicy garden fruits, a hint of cinnamon, oak, roasted nuts, and creamy vanilla.
• Stauning Rye:
  • Nose: The scent of freshly baked rye bread rises to the nose. Behind it, vanilla ice cream and homemade lemonade come to the fore.
  • Palate: Balanced and with gentle intensity, spicy rye, sweet vanilla cream, and candied lemon spread out. Fresh mint adds delicious accents.
  • Finish: Medium-long with spice, fresh fruits, and mint gum.
• Stauning KAOS:
  • Nose: Light smoky notes blend with spicy oatmeal, juicy apples, and grapes. Behind it, creamy milk chocolate.
  • Palate: Cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom mix with heartier spice notes. Also a lot of caramel. Along with smoke, pears, figs, and plums. Chocolate pralines and floral aromas in the background.
  • Finish: Long and strong with a hint of smoke and sweet accents.

Distillery/Bottler: Stauning Whisky was founded in 2005 by nine Danish whisky enthusiasts and is the oldest whisky distillery in the Kingdom of Denmark. The distillery is located in the western part of Jutland, south of the small village of Stauning near Skjern. Stauning Whisky produces handcrafted whisky from local grains and water, using traditional Scottish methods. In 2015, the globally operating alcoholic beverage manufacturer, Diageo, acquired 49 percent of the shares in Stauning Whisky.
