The Golden Cask Mannochmore 11 Year Old

Special Features: This single cask bottling comes from cask no. CM 298, distilled in June 2011 and bottled in March 2023. With a limited edition of only 279 bottles, the whisky presents itself with a touch of nuance, unfiltered, and completely natural. The high cask strength of 56% lends its character a powerful presence.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Typical for Speyside with fruity notes, complemented by a subtly sweet maltiness.
  • Palate: Powerful with a complex interplay of spices and barrel aromas, paired with a fine fruitiness.
  • Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of vanilla and light oak.

Distillery/Bottler: The Mannochmore Distillery is located near Elgin in Speyside and was built in 1971 by John Haig & Co. After several closures, the distillery, which is part of the Diageo Group, now produces only in winter. The clear spring water comes from the Bardon Burn, a tributary of the Spey River. Mannochmore uses unsmoked malt and features modern equipment with steam-powered stills. The distillery is not open to the public and does not have a visitor center.
