Special features: The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun Applewood Finish is an extraordinary Irish Single Malt, bottled after six years of aging – initially five years in First Fill Ex-Bourbon casks from the Great Northern Distillery and then twelve months in a handcrafted Virgin Applewood cask. The limited edition consists of only 64 bottles with a powerful 56.6% ABV and omits coloring and chill filtration to preserve its raw character. Part of an innovative series that uses various Virgin Wood Finishes to explore the influence of different wood types on aroma and taste.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Green wood, vanilla, oatmeal, flower honey, gooseberry meringue pie, bitter almond, chocolate
- Palate: Vanilla, sweet biscuit, fresh wood, gooseberry, grain, ginger cookies, flower honey

Distillery/Bottler: Behind the project is the independent bottler Sebastian Büssing, known as The Spirits Alchemist, who collaborates with Irish whiskey experts like Neil Saad (Irish Whiskey News Germany). The bottlings come from the Great Northern Distillery in Ireland, a young, innovative distillery known for modern interpretations of Irish whiskeys. The collaboration between connoisseurs and craftsmanship creates a successful connection between tradition and experimentation.
