Special features: This is the first Irish whiskey from independent bottler Sebastian Büssing, known as The Spirits Alchemist and The Liquid Madness. Created in collaboration with Irish whiskey expert Neil Saad, the whiskey is characterized by a twelve-month finishing in a handcrafted virgin wood pearwood cask (50 liters). The limited edition consists of only 36 bottles with a strong alcohol content of 57.3% vol.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fruit salad, white pepper, butter cookies, red berry compote with vanilla sauce, spicy accents, cherry lollipop
- Palate: Spicy with ginger sticks, vine peach, mirabelle, creamy vanilla notes and oiliness
- Finish: Medium-long, creamy, slightly dry with fruity-peppery nuances
Distillery/Bottler: The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun is a project by Sebastian Büssing, who is exploring new paths in Irish whiskey with expertise in independent bottling. The whiskeys are distilled at the Great Northern Distillery and benefit from innovative virgin wood finishes that explore the complex influences of different types of wood.
