Togouchi Peated Cask Finish

Special features: This Japanese blended whisky combines the sophistication of Scottish malt and Canadian grain whiskies, which have merged into a harmonious whole in Japan. After aging in bourbon barrels, it undergoes a final maturation in casks that previously housed Islay whiskies, giving the Togouchi Peated Cask Finish its characteristic smokiness.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Fruity aromas of black tea, orange peel, and chocolate, accompanied by a hint of smoke.
  • Palate: Smooth and balanced with notes of honey, coconut, and a light peat flavor.
  • Finish: Harmonious with aromas of caramelized sugar, smoked peat, and a floral hint of lavender.

Distillery/Bottler: The Sakurao Distillery, founded in 1918 near Hiroshima, is known for its masterful art of whisky production. With decades of experience in the production of sake and shochu, the distillery has made a name for itself in the world of whisky. The whiskies are aged in a 387-meter-long old railway tunnel, which provides constant conditions for maturation.
