Special features: This limited single malt whisky from the renowned Tomintoul Distillery was distilled in 2008 and initially matured in former bourbon casks. It then received a finish in carefully selected tawny port barriques from Portugal, giving it a special depth and complexity. It was bottled at 46% alcohol content, without chill filtration and without coloring, to preserve the natural aromas.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of cooked fruits and cinnamon pastries, combined with cocktail cherries, dark chocolate, and cloves.
- Palate: A hint of baked strawberries, rhubarb compote, and vanilla pudding, paired with sweet nougat, candied almonds, and cocoa powder.
- Finish: Nutty and warming with notes of coffee cake, ripe blackberries, walnuts, and dark chocolate that linger on the palate.
