Special features: In the Wood-Finish range of Tomintoul, bourbon cask-aged single malts are refined for two years in selected casks with various prior fillings. The Amarone Cask Finish matures in wine casks from Italy that were previously filled with the full-bodied Amarone, giving the whisky its complex and full-bodied depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Inviting aromas of cherry crumble, sultanas, and baking spices with subtle notes of oat biscuit (flapjacks) and cocoa.
- Palate: Layers of summer fruit pudding, raspberry sauce, ginger cookies, and salted caramel, complemented by creamy panna cotta and a spicy cedar note.
- Finish: Warming impressions of porridge with honey and raisins, pink peppercorns, and a hint of chocolate cherry liqueur that linger long after.
