Special Features: Velvet Cap is a blended whiskey that, after blending the various whiskeys, is matured again in an unusual combination of bourbon, rye/stout, and port casks. The use of rye/stout casks in a rotating system is an innovative approach by master distiller John Wilcox and lends the whiskey a special complexity. The recipe is based on historical findings from the Blackwater Distillery, which traced the traditional maturation process back to the 1960s, thus reinterpreting a piece of Irish whiskey history.

• Nose: dark fruit notes, honey and almond cake with a hint of cocoa
• Palate: Vanilla, caramel, spicy accents and again dark fruit nuances
• Finish: long-lasting, sweet and fruity
