Providence - Haitian Pure Single Rum Blanc (Velier)
Special features: This extraordinary rum is made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice of the Cristalline sugarcane variety, which is grown in the Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye region of Haiti. After double distillation in a traditional copper pot still, the rum matures for four years in rare casks from the legendary Caroni Distillery in Trinidad. With an ester content of 265 g per hectoliter and an alcohol content of 55%, this rum presents itself as fruity and vibrant despite its high ester and alcohol content.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Tropical fruits, spicy accents of cloves and camphor, complemented by vanilla and a delicate medicinal aroma.
Palate: Lively and creamy, with hints of honey, candied lemon, pineapple, and sweet spices like ginger and cinnamon.
Finish: Juicy, with notes of pineapple, slightly tannic, butter, vanilla, coconut, lychee, candied fruits, pear, mirabelle plum, ginger, and herbal aromas.
Distillery/Bottler: The Distillerie de Port-au-Prince in Haiti was founded in 2018 and is known for producing high-quality rum from local sugarcane. In collaboration with the Italian bottler Velier and the Barbancourt-Linge family, descendants of the famous Barbancourt rum dynasty, traditional methods are employed here to produce authentic rums.
