This Highland single malt matured in bourbon hogshead 5 from April 2, 1996, to May 27, 2021. After 25 years, Artful Dodger bottled the whisky at its natural cask strength of 49.1%, yielding a total of 480 bottles.

The long maturation in a bourbon cask combines waxy citrus and honeyed sweetness with syrupy fruit, vanilla, toffee and spicy oak. Mineral and peppery impressions shape the long finish. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured and comes in a 0.5-litre bottle with a premium presentation box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, wax and citrus mingle with light minerality, buttery creaminess and honeyed sweetness. Vanilla pod, orchard fruit and a hint of toasted coconut complete the aroma.
• Palate: The palate reveals syrupy fruit, waxy butteriness, vanilla and a light savoury note. Buttery toffee, citrus peel, soft malty sweetness and warming oak spice add further depth.
• Finish: The finish is long and persistent. Mineral, chalky notes and pepper meet wax and honey, followed by lingering vanilla cream, dried fruit and gentle spice.

The name of the Highland distillery behind this bottling has not been disclosed. Artful Dodger Whisky is an independent bottler founded by Sebastian Woolf in Brighton in 2018 as part of Woolf Drinks. The Artful Dodger Whisky Collective brand focuses primarily on single-cask bottlings; this whisky comes from one bourbon hogshead and is limited to 480 bottles.
