This Aberfeldy was distilled in February 2014 and bottled in March 2026 after 12 years in a refill bourbon barrel. Cask Series 027 is limited to 320 bottles and was released at a natural cask strength of 58.2%, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The months of maturation, cask type and outturn form a clearly defined single-cask profile.

Fresh, bright summer fruits and crisp apple define the nose. The palate remains lively as citrus fruit meets a touch of whisky pepper and freshly baked bread. The finish then shifts to an Aulds Yum Yum with a strong double-shot latte. The release therefore moves clearly from bright fruit through spiced bread to an unusually pastry- and coffee-led close.

Distillery/Bottler:

Aberfeldy Distillery produced the Highland single malt. North Star Spirits selected the refill bourbon barrel and bottled it independently for Cask Series 027.

Aberfeldy was established beside the Pitilie Burn in 1898 and is the only distillery built by the Dewar family itself. Long fermentation and slow distillation in Alembic copper pot stills contribute to its fruity, honeyed house style. North Star bottled this single refill bourbon barrel after twelve years at 58.2%, with an outturn of 320 bottles.
