Special Features:

A'bunadh Batch 084 is a distillery bottling produced in small batches from first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. The name A'bunadh means “the origin” in Gaelic and refers to founder James Fleming. The whisky matured exclusively in selected butts of this type and was bottled at its natural cask strength of 61.2%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

On the nose, Batch 084 combines ripe apricot and sultanas with spicy ginger. Dark chocolate, soft caramel and ripe fig follow on the palate, accompanied by a full, creamy texture. Oak spice and an elegant bittersweet character carry the long finish, which fades with a drier, more structured quality.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Aberlour Distillery Company Ltd produces the whisky in the Speyside village of Aberlour, where the Lour Burn meets the River Spey. James Fleming founded the distillery in 1879.

For its Oloroso maturation programmes, Aberlour commissions Spanish oak casks made to its own specifications and has them seasoned with sherry by long-standing bodega partners. A'bunadh is produced in small batches as a tribute to Fleming and released as a distillery bottling at cask strength.
