Adriatico Bianco gets its milky consistency from almonds rather than milk or cream. To make this white amaretto, peeled Filippo Cea almonds from Puglia are crushed and soaked. The recipe also contains almond extract, while a vanilla note complements its nutty character. The liqueur is lactose-free and carries VEGAN OK certification.

The creamy texture comes from combining crushed almonds, alcohol and sugar. Despite this consistency, Bianco feels less heavy than a classic cream liqueur. It can be whipped into a foam for cocktails. The bottle contains 0.7 litres at 16% alcohol and is offered without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Peeled almonds stand out clearly on the nose, accompanied by marzipan, almond butter and airy caramel confectionery.
• Palate: The liqueur feels creamy on the palate and tastes of sweet almond milk. Slightly bitter almond notes balance the sweetness, while airy caramel confectionery adds to the flavour.
• Finish: Roasted almond notes mingle with a light bitterness and creamy, sweet almond milk in the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jean-Robert Bellanger is the person behind Adriatico. The idea for the brand came from his Italian mother's tiramisu, which she enhanced with a little amaretto. This inspired him to develop an amaretto concept using almonds from Puglia; the liqueurs are made in this southern Italian region. Alongside the roasted version, the range includes Bianco, made with crushed and soaked white almonds. The brand owner is Bellaventura S.A.

The bottle design also draws on Puglia. The logo evokes the region's characteristic trulli, traditional stone houses with conical roofs. The bottle's shape is inspired by the medieval architecture of Castel del Monte.
