Special Features:

Roasted Filippo Cea almonds from Apulia form the basis of this amaretto. The hand-harvested almonds are roasted for several hours, then macerated in alcohol and distilled. Vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa and coffee complement the almond distillate, along with a pinch of salt from Margherita di Savoia on the Adriatic coast.

Adriatico uses natural ingredients and sweetens the liqueur with cane sugar. It contains approximately half as much sugar as traditional amarettos, making it less sweet. Alongside roasted almonds, toffee and spicy coffee and cocoa notes shape its character, complemented by vanilla and a delicate salty note. The amaretto is VEGAN OK-certified.

This amber-coloured liqueur can be enjoyed neat or over ice and also works well in cocktails. Tonic or ginger beer offers another way to serve it as an aperitif.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Roasted almonds dominate the nose. Marzipan and almond butter add to the nutty aromas, accompanied by a hint of caramel.
  • Palate: On the palate, roasted, slightly bitter almonds combine with sweet almond butter and airy toffee reminiscent of honeycomb caramel. Coffee, cocoa and cinnamon round out the harmonious flavour. A delicate salty note contrasts with the sweetness.
  • Finish: Roasted almonds and honeycomb caramel remain present throughout the long finish. Subtle roasted notes and a light floral accent accompany the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jean-Robert Bellanger is the person behind Adriatico. His inspiration for the amaretto came from his family: his Italian mother used to add a little amaretto to her tiramisu. That memory led to a recipe that took two years to develop. The brand belongs to Bellaventura S.A., and its amarettos are produced exclusively in Apulia.

The bottle design also reflects its origins. Blue and gold evoke the sea and sunlight of the Adriatic. The logo takes its shape from a trullo, the dry-stone hut typical of Apulia, while Castel del Monte inspired the shape of the bottle.
