Special Features:

Sea Cask represents the gentle, unpeated and non-smoky side of the Aerstone duo. This ten-year-old Lowland single malt matures in ex-bourbon casks stored in coastal warehouses in Ayrshire. Maturation near the coast defines the concept behind this bottling, with Land Cask providing the stylistic counterpoint in the duo.

Grapefruit, kiwi, pale grain and beeswax give the whisky a fresh, fruity and waxy accent. An oily texture, honey and creamy vanilla sweetness complement this character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, buttery toffee, creamy vanilla and freshly baked shortbread mingle with honeyed malt, orange and delicate hints of cinnamon and cocoa.
• Palate: On the palate, banana cake, floral malt notes, nougat and vanilla cake meet honey, orange sweets, icing sugar and earthy oak.
• Finish: Clove, candied lemon and vanilla pod linger on the finish, followed by a delicate saline note.

Distillery/Bottler:

The single malt comes from the Ailsa Bay Malt Distillery at William Grant & Sons’ Girvan site. Girvan Distillery opened in 1963 and formed the starting point of the site, which was later joined by the Ailsa Bay Malt Distillery.

William Grant & Sons was founded in 1887 and remains family-owned. The company is responsible for Aerstone and matures both ten-year-old expressions in Ayrshire under the supervision of Master Blender Brian Kinsman. Sea Cask is an official bottling.
