This single malt matures for three years in former bourbon and Rioja-Alavesa casks. It is characterized by its natural color and is not chill-filtered. With an alcohol content of 46%, this whisky unfolds a diverse range of aromas and flavors, attributed to the careful production and regional raw materials.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose surprises with sweet caramel notes, vanilla ice cream, and bitter cocoa aromas, complemented by clove spice. Fresh grapes, baked apple, banana, and peach create a fruity impression.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky initially presents itself modestly with sweet vanilla and honey, before gaining fullness and spice. Subtle spices like cinnamon and nutmeg blend with sweet banana notes.
- Finish: The finish is medium-long, marked by wine notes and plenty of sweet caramel.
Distillery/Bottler: AGOT is the brand of Basque Moonshiners S.L., which was founded in 2014 and specializes in the production of spirits in small batches. The production is made from 100% local malts of the Pils and Munich varieties. The distillery traditionally uses copper pot stills that have been in operation for over 70 years. Local raw materials are an integral part of the production philosophy.
