Akashi - Blended Whisky
Special features: The Akashi Blended Whisky combines 30% malt whisky and 70% grain whisky into a harmonious blend. It matures in bourbon casks as well as in white oak casks, giving it a balanced combination of fruitiness and wood notes.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Powerful aromas of malted grain, fruits, almonds, and a hint of sherry.
Palate: Soft and delicate with notes of vanilla, malt, and oak wood.
Finish: Long, sweet, and fruity.
Distillery/Bottler: Eigashima Shuzo Co., Ltd., founded in 1679, operates the White Oak Distillery in Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture. Known for producing sake, shochu, and wine, the distillery began whisky production in the early 1960s. The White Oak Distillery was built in 1984, inspired by Scottish models, and has since been dedicated to artisanal whisky production.
